Explorer Scouts

If you’re aged 14-18 you can join the Explorer Scouts. Explorers get to do the best activities Scouting has to offer From Jamborees to international expeditions this is what your Scouting experience is all building up to and where lifelong friendships are made.

Explorers also get to guide their own program. Want to climb the Alps? Sure! Enter a team cooking competition? Absolutely. Fly a plane? yep Scouts do that.

Our Explorers have recently attended The World Scout Jamboree in Japan, and expedition to Malawi, a District trip to Switzerland, and are working towards the upcoming trip to the Gambia.

Explorers can also get involved with the Scout Group as a Young Leader. Our young leaders make up a core part of our leader team and get to help us out and run their own nights for the younger sections. It’s a great way to stay involved once you turn 14 and an easy way to notch up those Duke of Edinburgh hours!

As well as the DofE awards, Explorers also have the opportunity to work towards the Chief Scout Platinum and Diamond Awards.

Age Range: 10 ½ – 14

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
